Depotronics Block 1

Block 1 enables you to run two trains, or more, on the sameloop of track. A Block 1
is used to operate an area of track, which is called a block. Three block areas are
needed to accomplish this. As the lead train enters a block section, the previous
block's power is turned off, thereby stopping the oncoming locomotive. When the lead
train leaves the block, the oncoming locomotive regains power and proceeds down the
track to the next block area. If you would like to run only one train on a block
system, the train will continually run the entire loop.

Tin plate track - When using tin plate track you will need three insulated outside rail
sections for each of the three blocks. Block 1 provides a special set and reset input
for this track. These inputs have Depotronics' exclusive "memory hold", which enables
Block 1 to remember if the block area was occupied or unoccupied when the power was removed.
Gargraves track - When using Gargraves track you will have to insulate an outside rail, as
long in length as your block area, for each block. Block 1 provides a Gargrave input for
 each application.
Typical Block 1 system for two trains using tin plate track: (requires 3 Block
    1's)

Block 1

  • Supplies 1 relay for powering block stop area
  • Two input types (Gargrave & Tin Plate)
  • Solid state circuitry protected by an input fuse
  • One single pole/double throw 10 Amp relay, protected by an automatic resetting 10 Amp circuit breaker
  • Snap-in mounting plate
  • Easy wiring terminal blocks
  • Easy installation instructions with colored wiring diagram

Block 1+

  • The same great features of Depotronics' Block 1
  • An additional single pole/double throw 10 Amp relay protected by a 10 Amp fuse. (Used for #140 Banjo Signal, #148 Dwarf Signal, #151 Semaphore, #153 Block Signal, etc.)

Block 1+R

  • All of the features of Depotronics' Block 1+
  • An additional single pole/double throw 10 Amp relay protected by an automatic resetting 10 Amp circuit breaker. This additional relay provides a 2 stage blocking circuit which allows the locomotive to slow down, then stop at the end of the block.

Block 1 TRCD

  • A Block 1 designed for 2-Rail operation
  • Includes a TRCD (Two-Rail Circuit Detector), with each Block 1 unit, to be used in place of the insulated outside rail
