Depotronics has developed a microprocessor controller with unparalleled performance for on-track train controls. With the technology of today's microprocessors we're able to give you controls with the ability to carry out your commands. Depotronics' Micro 1 has been designed to guarantee reliable hands-free operation of your valuable trains.

Depotronics now offers 3 Micro 1 units: Electronic Engineer, Crossing Guard, and Watchman.

Micro 1 Controllers carry our standard 5 year warranty.

Electronic Engineer Micro 1
Electronic Engineer Micro 1 is a control that will reverse your locomotive's direction at the end of the track. Electronic Engineer gives you the ability to run a locomotive or trolley back and forth between 2 points with 2 station stops in between.

Micro 1 enhances Electronic Engineer to give it new features:

  • Operates on 2 or 3 rail track.
  • Operates AC or DC trains.
  • Two station stops with independent, adjustable timers (1/2- 20 seconds), plus independent timers at each end.
  • 3 preset station stop routines.
  • A unique station stop holding feature, which will not allow locomotive or trolley to go into a neutral state. (Loco-Pause Transformer required.)
  • QSI start up feature for QSI equipped locomotives.
  • Has the ability to sound the whistle/horn after leaving a station stop area. NOTE: AC mode only.
  • Uses all 10 amp relays and each relay circuit is protected by an automatic, resetting circuit breaker.
  • Depotronics' high-quality workmanship and our 5 year warranty.
Operation Requirments:
3 Rail AC Operation: 2 Rail DC Operation:
  1. End to End: 1 Electronic Engineer Micro 1
  2. End to End w/Station Stops: 1- Electronic Engineer Micro 1 and 1-Loco-Pause Transformer
  3. End to End w/Station Stops and Whistle/Horn activation: 1-Electronic Engineer Micro 1, 1-Loco-Pause Transformer, and 1-Diode String Circuit
  1. End to End: 1-Electronic Engineer Micro 1 and 1- 14 Volt AC Power Pack
  2. End to End w/Station Stops: 1-Electronic Engineer Micro 1and 1- 14 Volt AC Power Pack

Crossing Guard Micro 1
Using Depotronics’ Micro 1 processor system, Crossing Guard Micro 1 gives the train enthusiast a way to block an oncoming train at a crossing. Crossing Guard Micro 1, with its powerful microprocessor, looks at all four entries into the cross track and determines which train arrived first. It then stops the other train, in the opposing direction, until the crossing is clear. Crossing Guard works bi-directionally to insure that all four sides of your crossing are protected. To operate Crossing Guard Micro 1 you need to use the following equipment:
  • 1 - Crossing Guard Micro 1
  • 1 - Loco-Pause Transformer (unless engines locked in forward)
  • 4 - Insulated Outside Rail sections of track
  • 1 - Cross Track

Watchman Micro 1
Watchman Micro 1 is a microprocessor controller that is designed to create 1-3 sidings off your mainline. With Watchman Micro 1, you can create a siding off of your mainline to run 2 trains in either opposite or the same direction. It's easy to do, just make 2 stop areas and use 4 insulated outside rails, and you too can enjoy this often requested scenario. When using Watchman to control 1 siding, you also can have one of the following:
  • Block signals for each stop area
  • Slow down track sections in sidings
  • Independent throttle for 2 trains
  • Tortoise or NJ switch motor control

By adding Block 1 units you can have all the above. (Call us when configuring your layout.)

Watchman Micro 1 is also able to operate 2-3 sidings, off your mainline, when using O22 Lionel switches. For high rail switches with Tortoise or NJ switches and/or the above mentioned features, call us to help you configure your layout. For even more enjoyment you can combine Watchman Micro 1 and Block 1's. This would allow you to have a siding off your mainline and a block system (to have 2 trains operating through the siding and 1 running on the loop). The 3 trains would trade places in the siding for more random operation.
