| The newly developed Switch Buddy-T is the finest solid state controller that you can use to operate Tortoise Switch Machine on your Hi-Rail switches, giving them a true non-derailing feature. Depotronics has simplified the wiring of your Tortoise Switch Machines. No longer will you need to purchase a DC power supply, and contend with the 1 Amp capacity switching contacts on the Tortoise Switch Machine. Switch Buddy provides the DC power, to the Tortoise Switch Machine, and powerful 10 Amp relays, for the stop -track and switch rail feature. | |
|
Switch Buddy-T is available in three models: Switch Buddy-T - This controller has two inputs (Straight and Curved). Each input is activated by a locomotive passing over an insulated outside rail, which is placed before the straight and curved portion of the switch. These inputs cause Switch Buddy-T to operate the Tortoise Switch Machine and supply a Stop feature to stop the train while the Switch Machine is in motion. Switch Buddy-T Plus - Contains the same features as above with the addition of a third input (Reset). This feature allows Switch Buddy-T Plus to be prioritized straight or curved. After the Switch Machine operates the switch, allowing the locomotive to pass through, Switch Buddy-T Plus will reset the switch to the prioritized position (straight or curved). Switch Buddy-T Plus R - Contains the same features as the above unit, with the addition of an output relay to switch track power to different rails for longer switches. Example: Curtis Excel #6 and #8 series switches. NOTE:

Control 1A is a solid state controller that is used to operate a Tortoise Switch Machine on your high-rail switches. Control 1A provides a true non-derailing feature with a straight and curved input. The inputs are activated by a locomotive passing over insulated outside rail sections of track. To activate, simply place one insulated outside rail section of track in front of the turnout and a second insulated outside rail section of track in front of the straight section of the switch. Please note: insulated outside rail track sections must be placed far enough ahead of the switch to allow Tortoise Motor to fully operate before the train enters the switch. By adding pushbutton switches to these input lines, manual control can be achieved from your control panel. Panel light monitoring is provided from the Tortoise Switch Motor. Control 1A provides the DC power needed to operate the Tortoise Switch Motor from the AC power applied to the unit. |
